I was looking at the U.S. Arena site to see what kind of jammers they had. They have a history of the company. They started in the seventies. Here's the web page.

They talk about how they introduced their "Skinfit" fabric (early lycra??), and there's a pic of Mark Spitz in what looks like five inch sides. Same decade as the pics from the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic center that were in black and white. That pool was full of guys in speeds. Wish I had a time machine.

I don't see any on their web site for the USA. Just comp suits. I don't remember seeing any on other sites either.

I use to have arena racing suits & they always were a better fit for competition & overall had a good cut.
I had one that sort of overlapped on the side panels
Just a green suit with the white panels with arena insignia on the white panels.
That gave me freedom for running on the bech.
The overlapping hinged panels sort of were like a triangle of overlapping material that wasn't quite a string side...just 1" at the hip.
like there was one panel for the back & another for the front that just overlapped like a hinge near the waist. It had great flexibility for swimming & running.
Is that still around?

I haven't seen that one. What they have on their USA web site is kind of limited now. I have one of their X-Flat suits. It's a very thin fabric that really sheds water. It came in a little metal can and I still store it there. Maybe it helps preserve the fabric. Someone gave me this as a gift. They still sell X-Flat in europe and the UK.
