I found this cool video on men's Brazilian swimwear. Very positive outlook on small swimwear for men in Brazil.

Great video find, Frankjath! How funny that they can tell which of the beachgoers are foreign because they prefer the skimpier briefs styles, where the Brazilian dudes where the boxier looking suits.

And when the Brit guy tried on the sunga, it just proved my point I always make that skinnier guys actually look better in smaller briefs and bikinis rather than square cuts or sungas.

I thought the Brit looked pretty darn good in the bright sunga. I would deffinetly wear one while visiting Rio instead of my usual speedo style. Just my thoughts on the matter. Hell, might even do so here in Canada.

Great find!

It seems that a lot of guys in Britain have the same feel, if women were more open about liking speedos I think a lot more guys would do it. But it all boils down to the obsession that somehow a bulge on a guy is an offensive thing. Women wear practically nothing and no one cares men so much as wear short shorts and it's disgusting.

The Brit guy lookedngreat though

I'm with you guys 100% more guys would be willing to wear speedos if it was more accepted. The British guy said he actually prefers speedos but does not wear them because women don't approve.

I also came across a Brazilian soap made for the teen audience starting in 1995. Its super cool to see guys in speedos or sungas as they are known in Brazil. http://youtu.be/AwQWiY4SURM?t=1m

Wrong color for him. But the sunga feel more like a square cut

Did he say I am not confident about my penis?
Well, mate, go and have surgery then ....

And the girlfriend? So, she doesn't like to see his body? Or probably she is also not confident about his penis?

Common, ridiculesness (if that's a word) all over the world.

That video got a lot closer than I expected! Lol but it does raise a good point about blending in when traveling and taking cues from one's surroundings. I wouldn't wear briefs in Brazil knowing this. Similarly, I probably wouldn't wear board shorts on the shores of southern Italy. It's all about what's locally appropriate.

Pretty interesting. I thought he looked good in the suit. Cool guy. Of course, they always choose some crazy color (colour?) like this neon lime green, or whatever it is. If I ever get to Rio, I'll pack some square cuts and buy a Brazilian sunga when I get there.

Sadly, you'd probably fit right in if you wore board shorts on the shores of southern Italy. Or Australia. Or anywhere else that speedos are (or once were) commonly worn. More and more guys are choosing them over speedos and that sucks. Happily, though, there are still plenty of men sporting speedos so, unlike in most of the USA, you can wear speedos and you'll fit right in. Especially in Italy!
