Caribbean cruising

Post by phoenix-pierce » Wed Jan 07, 2015 9:01 pm

In 2016 ill be taking a Caribbean cruise with the family. I haven't wore board shorts in years so my family sees it as a normal thing. I'm curious if any of the islands down there are more or less accepting of men wearing speedo style swimwear. I inquired last year when we went to Puerto Rico and i thought somebody had a link to a story or study that somebody had done about the places that were ok and the places that were not ok with speedo wearing. I know in some of these places down there you can be arrested for exhibiting "homosexual" acts. Not to say that speedos are only worn by queers (even though i am one) but many people see tiny swimwear as a gay thing.

I did wear speedos when i was in Puerto Rico and had no issues. I wore poolside and walking on the beach but i covered up when walking into the hotel. I brought a different one for each day and didnt really get any stares even when i wore the neon pink one. A couple guys joked that they should have brought theirs. I only saw one older gentleman wearing one but he was only on the beach and he covered up when he wasnt laying on the deck chairs.

Overall, i havnt really had any negativity when it comes to swim briefs so im not shy about wearing them, I just dont want to get locked up in a foreign country.

I would not worry about wearing a speedo or brief on a cruise & have done it several times Just use common sense & not wear a thong or a real skimpy bulging suit that hides nothing Remember cruises are for all ages & all types of travellers closely packed together When you want to wear something skimpy do it on a tropical uncrowded beach when you dock I have always booked a cruise with a private balcony & wear a skimpy thong in the privacy of my space so as not to affend anyone so I can get a grat tan all over

While i do have a couple swim thongs, i have not yet wore them in public. While many of my speedos are bright colors, the ones i wear in public are the tradition speedo size and style.
