First up this is not a post to be sordid or crude I just want to know your thoughts on change rooms and behaviour and such.
As some of you know I am fairly new to the whole wearing only a speedo while swimming - I started only a few short months ago and I must say I haven't looked back. Sure there have been some moments when I have had to summon up courage to watch around in 'just' my speedos but I did it and now I really don't care!
Anyway enough of that - it's all good and to boot I am swimming better!
My question is about the change room - remembering that I used to wear board shorts (with speedos underneath) when swimming I also lived closer to my pool (in a new City now so totally different location etc) and I just wore my towel to drive home I never used the change rooms for anything more that toilet facilities. The change room at my old pool also had showers with doors my current one is MUCH bigger and has a communal shower area and change area next door.
As I am wearing speedos I tend to get into them at the pool and then therefore need to change after swimming.
I am modest - I do strip my speedos off in the shower - usually towards the end, and I keep my front to the wall as I wash the chlorine off my suit, then I get my towel wrapped around me before walking to my bag and gear. Dry off quick and get dressed etc... limiting the amount of time I am 'nude'.
I have noticed a lot of difference in guys in the change rooms - most of the Asian decent guys are OK with walking to and from the showers, they dry and even hang around nude talking to each other. I know in their culture communal bathing is a popular past time and I think it is good - wish I had the same attitude.
However I have also noticed a few guys who are (how do I put this) well endowed who seem to enjoy flashing themselves at the other guys. It sort of seems like they are saying "hey have a look at my big (flaccid) dick... here it is... Look at it!!!".
For instance last night this guy was showering with his back to the wall the whole time almost trusting his hips out to show off his package.
As I said I'm modest but I ain't intimidated by these floppy cocks (well mostly!) but I don't think it's appropriate to thrust them in my face (not literally). I am OK with nudity and feel comfortable with the men who are just nude but casual and easy with it - like my Asian example. It's not overt it just natural and seeing that makes me want to get that comfortable to be able to do that too.
So do others find this at all? Are there guys out there trying to make other guys intimidated or nervous or what?
True be told I really don't care about your dick - you see I have one of my own and it's quite nice and I like it a lot and you know what so does my wife (and quite a few other people I have used it with) oh and also my penis in the shower or out of the pool it not the penis I use with those other people... that one is quite a bit different and a lot more fun!

As an aside what is with the guys who get changed beside the pool? What's wrong with the change rooms? Isn't it hard to juggle your clothes and towel all to save 2 seconds of potential nudity in the change rooms? I don't get that!!!

maybe it's japanese asian type who don't get shy nude in front other guys. because their culture have public hot spring bathroom in the winter. mostly asian guys shy to get nude in front other guys and always get change in the closet room not even in the locker room..

shouldn't generalize loads of different cultures in a big continent. I am asian and live in HK and everyone changes in the open...most pools don't have private changing booths and where they do they don't seem used.

I think generally there's two types of guys in the changing rooms. Guys who turn their backs to the room when they are naked and guys who face the room. I've always been a room facer and if I was really well hung I'd only pop into my Speedo's at the last moment!

I've been in changing rooms since I was a young kid. I got used to being naked around other men long ago. We all have the same equipment. I don't see what's the big deal having to hide our bodies from others (women excluded)

The guys at the pool I use who are nude talking seem to be mostly Chinese, the adult swim group are similar (well some are at least) but I think that is from being with mates.
I have witnessed the Japanese Onsen first hand and found that confronting at first but when I realised it was normal for Japanese culture I was at lease and enjoyed the experience of communal bathing in a HOT bath outside!
It's funny how our western (at least in Australia) society shuns male nudity with other males. I'm not gay and as I said before your penis is yours mine is mine it should be like me seeing your nose - mine is bigger and have a bulge where it was cracked yours might be small and pointy - who cares!
So to end this - nude up and be proud of what you are - a man... I'll try if you do!

I had been in steam rooms without a towel. I think is the best way to enjoy that places and in the other hand being in change rooms totally nude is the same. Manly and body pride have to be a norm...at least for me it is!!

I must be the opposite in gyms and the like. Some seem to hang around forever with nothing on. I don't. My gym is near where I work so I tend to use the facilities at work which are a bit more private and somewhat nicer.

This is not possible for pools though, but to be honest I'm not the worlds greatest swimmer so I don't tend to get to the pools that often. ;)
