There's been a few posts with thong questions but I've never found a specific thong thread. So I've started one.

I go to a lot of orgies and fetish nights and the Man-on-man events (Which I don't call gay nights) have loads of men rocking jockstraps but out of the hundereds there's maybe just a couple of men in thongs; and one of them's usually me! The first time me and my mate went to the (mixed) Torture Garden night we wore jocks and didn't get any action, next month when I went I wore a thong and my arse was like a magnet for girls' hands! I think thongs have a male stripper/ porn star/ bodybuilder image, certainly I've not seen lads dancing in thongs on floats at Pride events.

I've worn thongs on beaches, not anywhere near as often as I'd wear speedo's and I'm pretty selective about where I wear em. Remote beaches in Scotland and places like that are pretty good because anybody who catches site of you is half expecting to see skinny dipping anyway 'cos of the remoteness, so a thong is probably pretty conservative compared to what they thought they might see!

You can probably guess I'm a bit of a Thong-man. I reckon they make my thighs and back look more powerful. In the photo's I used a pair of briefs, tanga's and thong, all from the same brand they're Kiniki Camdens, to compare the difference. I reckon the thong looks best, followed by the brief.

I also think they look quite aggresive, the guy in the white thong has a "King of the beach" vibe going on and I don't think anyone would be in a hurry to pick a fight with either of those two guys! I guess it's like male Baboons using their lairy coloured arses to intimidate other males. Speedo's are often wrongly accused of being a bit gay but I don't see how anybody would dare make that claim about man-thongs. Despite all the focus been on the man's arse!

To me, the top pictured blue patterned brief is by far the best one. The cut on it is just about perfect and just how I like them - low rise hip hugger, super skinny sides 1" or less, back side that rises just high enough to barely cover the butt crack but no higher. Which is why I think the tanga isn't as attractive because it rises too high in back, it hides your lower back dimples where the brief lets you show them off, and thongs don't really do anything for me unless they're on girls (sorry!) but the brief I think graduates to the level of "bikini" it's darn near perfect and I love it. Solid black in color or dark blue and it would be perfect but I really do like this pattern too.

I'd have to say I don't like that one, it's right on the pubic bone at the front and it doesn't rise above the arsecheeks properly at the back. I think skin tight gear, whether it's for swimming, posing or some other sporting activity has to work with the contours of the body not against it. Diveguy kind of touches on that I think when he mentioned my tanga being too high at the back- I loved how he called them "Back Dimples"- for me it doesn't work quite as well as the other two either.

I have one underwear thong but I don't think I'd go to the beach in one. Nobody wants sand up there. Hot tub or pool, I'd be more likely to wear one in those situations.

Eliminating the functional side of the argument, if the fit and design is right I'll say yes.

And I must thank you Norfcountryboy and briefs55 on showing us something different. I knew about mategear, but not that they released so many new products recently, and I had never heard of kiniki. I might order from them some day.

From the front it looks pretty nasty but in a good sort of way but not into the backside at all. Might be fun for suntanning but my rule of thumb always is "will it slip off if I dive head first into the ocean from the top deck of a cabin cruiser?" and if the answer is yes, then it is not something I'm likely to choose for myself. Has to be functional and stand up to the rigors of swimming snorkelling and diving, as well as crashing head first into the surf and frolicking in the waves. If the suit can stay put and still look hot then that's what I'm into. From the looks of them I think Mategear's "super bikini" line is more my thing.

I really love the Mategear mini thong.
The colours are really nice. I ordered one at once, just to try. I did choose for a "small"; I wonder if it will fit.

I think as long as you size correctly, the MATE will fit fine. I think the models downsized to enhance the small look of the suits. Unless someone else can corroborate that they're actually that small. I own a super bikini and ultra bikini and they fit pretty well. I still wish they had a more full back but that's a bit off topic for a thong thread, isn't it. lol

First up my Speedo USA beach thong, discontinued now. I've got it in navy and in neon fluro yellow. The navy one is supurb, yellow is wierdly too tight and slightly baggy at the same time. The loves not as strong!

Clothes to pose fluro green beach thong. I'm really proud of how this one makes my arse look, I think a lot of beach guys wax their arses along with the rest of their bods but I'm kind of proud of my hairy cheeks, in theory it shouldn't work but lets just say I've had no complaints!

Yea, I agree, thongs seem to not be considered or seen as gay as much or at all. I'm straight and I remember several years ago worrying I'd be seen that way if someone saw me wearing one. AussieBum even has a thong in their underwear showing a girl looking at the model like at a strip club. I even found a silk thong at Gordmans, and Joe Boxer still sell theirs. I just wish speedos can become more commonplace as gender free as well, at least in the USA. Now as far as a thong to the beach or pool, that is a bit too daring for me!

Definitely no complaints from me.

Hi! I recently bought a pair of thongs, just for curious and feel the way it goes...My personal veredict is that this thong I bought is very nice, comfortable and sexy to wear under jeans!! I would like to use in some nude beaches, by the way I´ve never been!

A word to the wise: if you've a hairy bum (and I don't mean just the crack) do not wear a thong. Please. A thong will only emphasize (and not necessarily in a good way) your furriness. Head to a nude beach instead.

Yeah, I think you must shave your butt and dispel your legs from about 1/3. Thong is more a "clean view" shaved.

Nah, I like my men to be hairy- a bit animal- it gives them texture and providing it's not excessive it's something else to play with. Change anyone's mind?

My latest Speedo thong's just arrived, fluro green, so I've got three now. Photo's of me wearing to follow...

I find it strange that Speedo markets and sells their thongs in the US (at least they used to) via speedousa.com but they never offered the skimpier asian cut bikini styles for sale here.
