I made a post a number of months back (maybe August?) about possibly going to Puerto Rico. Well as it works out my partner did in fact win the trip to Puerto Rico and we are going in March. We are staying at the Wyndahm Rio Mar Beach Resort . The pictures look awesome, especially the ones of the pools! So theres no way in hell im gonna go to the Caribbean and not take my Speedos, but will i be the only one? The information packet we got talks about attire for evening dinners and formal events but speak nothing of what you do during the day. The website doesnt have any FAQ or rules and guidelines. Anybody been to this area? Im also curious about nude beaches as iv seen that there is one on one of the beaches around PR.

Hi Been to PR 3 times & never had a problem wearing a speedo at pool or beach & if you go to the Conado area you will see some of most revealing speedos you have ever seen Also any gay beach in PR for that matter The public beaches daddies generally wear a more concervative type of brief with the family but you can still see speedos Off the beach walking or shopping or in the hotel it would be best to wear boards or shorts to avoid comments Have a great time & do not be too worried PR is the second best place to wear speedos after Mexico where they are very common due to the large Gay tourism

also would be interested to hear about any must visit areas or shops. We dont often get to go on vacations and the only reason we are going on this one is because my partners work is footing the entire bill. we wanna make the most of it!

I stayed at the Rio Mar 3 years ago. Beautiful resort...you'll love it! While Speedos were certainly NOT the norm, there were several to be seen. I don't think you'll be the only one, but probably only a couple others! Have fun and enjoy the trip

Hi Further to previous post I should have said Condado Beach area If budget allows I would suggest you rent a car for at least a couple of days to tour the beautiful island with good roads on the island Do not miss El Yunque rain forest with a lovely beach when you come down to the coast from the site Again if budget allows there are some day trips to other islands like the Virgin Islands to make the most of your trip English is widely spoken in PR but learning a few basic Spanish words will get a friendly smile Have a good trip & make the most out of it If you want some Gay info go to google or yahoo & type in Gay Porto Rico or just type Porto Rico for straight info Use your judgement but do wear a speedo

I stayed at the Ritz in San Juan and wore my speedo everyday. I never had a problem and never felt I was unwelcome. I wore it at the beaches in the east near Farado. In San Juan, there were plenty of speedos, especially near the gayer section. I say gayer because it is not purely gay. Relax, get some sun, enjoy the warm water and get a speedo tan line.

Cheers

Who cares if you are the only one? You're in a swimsuit by the pool or on the beach - what else would you be wearing. Why worry about what everyone else is wearing? If you are going on vacation and want to wear speedos - wear them. A vacation is for enjoyment and if you enjoy wearing speedos, you should to get full pleasure out of your vacation. Shake off the insecurities - the only one that will be worried about your suit is you.

LOL No, i don't have the insecurities. I have in fact thrown out all of my swim shorts ( kept a few of the board shorts cus they were expensive and work great as every day shorts) I have no problems wearing my Aussiebums around family and strangers alike at water parks and rafting events. I have been reading up alot on the area for general purposes and for speedos. I have actually run across several people who have stated that in some areas they have been run off for dressing in small attire. Some people who have stated that they go to lay out next to the pool and get told that they need to put on shorts because it is a "family" place. I just wanna know these things in advance. Since i wont be packing any shorts, I don't want my vacation ruined by not having shorts.
