Could someone help me with a problem connecting with other guys like me?

I am slightly gay (I would probably measure only 2.5 out of 10 points on the Fagometer Scale), but I have developed a pretty strong passion for swimming and bathing with other guys. This hot little “aquaphilicâ€

Just to elaborate on what experiences I’ve had in the past (and what I’m looking for in the future), here’s a website about this little fetish that got started in Japan:

I managed to make contact with a couple of well hung Asian guys (there’s a LOT of them here) who want to go to the tubs with me.

I also found a really nice place here in San Francisco with private rooms, Jacuzzis, and showers.

I’m really looking forward to having some fun in deep water.

California Dolphin,

Congrats on finding some guys to have fun with in San Fran. Be sure to share your experiences - I know I'd love to hear about it.

Are you going to ask the guys to wear speedos?

I think you are denying your true sexual orientation.Yes there is a continuom between straight and gay.All of us fall some where on this scale. Our position on the scale can change over time;however most of us who are near the gay end of the scale know we were born that way and there is no denying it and no way to change it.I don't know where you are on the scale but from what you have told us ,I would say on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being gay) that you are farther along the scale to gay than 2.5.You need to really ask yourself who/what turns you on sexually and come to terms with it. It is hard to admitt to oneself that you are gay. It makes for a hard life in our society. I wish you the best in your determinations.

Hi Highlandsailor:
Actually, I’ve taken several anonymous on-line tests for sexual orientation (Klein Grid, Kinsey, etc.) and based on my honest responses to the questions, my score is pretty much “average” (near the peak on the statistical "Bell Curve") –that is I’m not extremely Str8 -nor am I extremely Gay either. Furthermore being near the peak of the bell curve is not indicative of bisexuality - it just means that a particular person's profile embodies the most commonly found set of psycho-sexual characteristics.

Furthermore, my erotic dreams (the kind experienced during REM sleep) reflect the exact same situations that I fantasize about when I’m awake. So based on the involuntary ideation expressed in my dreams, I don’t think I am repressing or denying any subconscious Gay thoughts in my waking time either.

As I said in my initial post, I’ve been to bathhouses on at least 20 occasions, and I really don’t get sexually exited at all about the “hard core” play areas (where any type of “penetration” Gay sex is performed). So if I really want to have Gay sex, I have had plenty of uninhibited opportunities to do so.

At least for me, sexuality is more or less “self defined” by what does –and does not- turn me on and in the absence of any social pressures, there’s an old saying that “water will seek its own level”. Accordingly, I have found that level -and it doesn’t include anything resembling what would be considered really a form of serious Gay sexuality.

I might mention also that I have been diagnosed with some kind of neurological problem that interferes with most functions below the waist level (including uro-genital activities such as urination, erection, stimulation, and ejaculation). My biological father was a military officer and also a combat veteran and it is believed that my problem is the result of the polio vaccine my father got in the military and the side effects were transmitted to me through the semen/embryo method similar to children born with HIV.

Some doctors have denied that my problem is of neurological origin and they claim that it is purely psychiatric (as they have also done with Gulf War and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). However I got a second opinion from a clinic specializing in neurological disorders and they have confirmed using (electromyographic tests) that my problem is in fact some kind of neuropathy.

I might also mention that the HIV epidemic has provided some “cutting edge” research into the field of viral transmission and it is quite well known that channels for infection that were previously considered impossible (such as semen to embryo) are in fact now known to be possible.

So there you have a little picture of my sexuality and physiology –the latter of which doesn’t exactly work well with the former.

Hi SpeedoMike
Great to hear that you were able to visit the Bay Area!

The Watergarden is really a great place (it's a high end club for Silicon Valley's Gay & Bi clientel) and also the Steamworks in Berkeley.

Happy Holidays - :D

Hey Cal Dolphin,

Glad you got a diagnosis even if it isn't exact yet. I work in a book store and have read about a lot of conditions that are hard to diagnose that get written off as "psychological". A hundred years ago people who had thyroid problems were told it was psychological. We're all different in our own way. It sure can be a learning process.
