Japanese/Asian & European speedos vs American speedos?

New to the board and I am seeing comments or photos of Japanese and European speedos being sleeker/sexier.

What is the difference?

Is it worth getting a non-American version if one is looking for a tighter fit?

There is a photo in the speedo shopping thread of Anton I think his name is modeling a European sort of purple colored speedo. The title of the post is looking for a purple speedo.

That fit is exactly what I am looking for as I get ready to purchase my second speedo. Doesn't have to be purple. Slim/tight fit w/ total coverage of rear and at/ a bit above hips in front.

Generally euro speedos are lower rise and tighter, more revealing cut, asian are even lower and cut smaller. US speedos tend to be higher on the hips, euro mid way, asian (depending on make) can be very low.

If you like tighter fit, go with a euro or asian cut, but "upsize" the asian one level (so if you take M order L etc).

Thanks. Great summary.

I really like the look of the Euro aquablades pictured in the Shopping forum. Clearly a sleeker/sexier cut than the US aquablade.

I want the tighter fit but with full rear coverage and at or a tad above the hips. Which sounds like the Euro cut. Plus the sizes are easier to extrapolate than would be a Japanese suit.

Don't want to buy on E-Bay so I'll need to find a European, hopefully British, online dealer.

ITA - covering 1/2 ur ass - hmmmm.

A little left to the imagination is sexier IMO.

Definitely going to go with a Euro speedo. Hope Euro aquablades are still available.

Asian speedos are designed for the Asian male. Generally speaking, they are slight of ass and not as endowed as the western male. Personally, I can't wear them. I was in Japan and tried several stores to find some and never could. I have a 31" waist, larger up front than average and a bubble butt. The largest one would have gotten me arrested for lack of coverage. There are now several companies that have designed a super low ride suit that has the western male in mind. I like mine low in the front (almost to the shaft) and some crack in the back. I've been happy to find two or three companies filling that bill now for a hell of a lot less money. I did try one of the suits on E-Bay that said it was large enough but it ended up on my 10 year old nephew.
The look is more popular and you will find them all over the internet.

I've just received my first pair of Toot bikini style. Certainly low at the front [I'll have to trim my pubes before wearing them in public]. For US$ 10 including postage one can't go wrong! Make sure you order the LARGE. No Westerner would fit in anything smaller
