What do I need to work on?

Hey, guys. Forever ago, I posted some pics of me, asking how I looked. Everybody pretty much attacked me, and it wasn't terribly pleasant. But, anyway, from August of '09 to now, I lost 45 lbs. So, I'm posting a picture of myself now on here. Mind you, I'm not asking how I look, I'm asking what kind of working out I should do to look good in a speedo. I don't want a six pack, or anything that'd be high maitenance, I just want to look good in one. So, what muscle sections do I need to work on, essentially?

I was actually a little bigger then you are now a few years back and as discouraging as this may sound, you're going to need to work all of them.
My suggestion would be to find cardio/and endurance sport you like (swimming, jogging, roller blading, x-country skiiing, cycling, etc) and do lots of it.
It's a great way to shed the pounds without having to spend nearly as much time in the gym and depending on what you end up doing you have the added benefit of being outside.
If you've lost 45lbs already, keep up the good work! And good for you!
And in my opinion, to look good in a speedo you basically need a slim waistline and a good package.
Alternately a great ass and legs are my fave and that's my personal route. Still a few pouns to go for me but I'm getting there; it's doable !
Good luck man!

Similar to Jay, I think the trick is to find a cardio sport you enjoy and make friends through a sport and try to enjoy an activity with other people. But this is just me, some people like being solo runners, etc
If you can find something enjoyable, exercise won't seem like work and you will be more likely to achieve the benefits of a slim body - which should become less of a goal and instead something fun.

I work in a book store and read quite a bit on diet and health. Exercise is important and so is what you eat. It takes quite a bit of exercise to burn off calories so it makes sense to avoid eating too much and the wrong stuff to begin with. The best book I've found for diet and exercise is called Eat Right 4 Your Type by Peter D'Adamo. It gets into the best foods and exercise based on you blood type. You can buy a kit to test blood type on the internet, or donate blood to the American Red Cross and they'll tell you.
There are TONS of books on exercise and weight loss that come and go at the store, but they always keep this on the shelf. This book gets into the physiology and psychology of each blood type and why some things work and others don't. GENERALLY... "O" blood types feel best with a heavier exercise program. "A" blood types do better with Yoga and lighter aerobic workouts. And you always have to fine tune on your own for your individual body because there are variations within blood type. Start gradually. The book helps you discover what works for you. I'm reading a new book mainly on exercise that looks cool and I'll post when I finish it.

Congratulations on losing the weight, Hardspeedo - that's a great achievement, regardless of the type of exercise program you start now. For me, swimming keeps the weight down. Although it doesn't give you a six-pack, it helps to give a bit of breadth and definition to the upper body.
Swimming also gives you a chance to gawp at other guys in speedos, to there's added incentive to exercise!
Cheers mate

Congratulations on the weight loss. I remember that previous post of yours. Some were a little too harsh. I know I didn't express myself appropriately. Your love for speedos is comendable. So far i find the advice given hereby other members good. Try it out.
If all else fails, plastic surgery.

Great progress, hardspeedo... and although it has been mentioned before I have to agree that cardio is the best for overall weight loss and general muscle tone... you can always work on individual areas later, or between days of intense cardio ... don't be afraid to switch it up to keep things less boring. You can Bike, swim, run, jog, hike, row, almost anything that helps you to burn more calories than you take in ...
Keep it up - I can see the improvement!
