Lots Of Speedos In Athletic Swimming

Post by California Dolphin » Sat May 21, 2011 9:18 pm

I’ve been doing some research on college swimming and diving and I’ve notices there are lots of guys that are still wearing speedos for athletic swimming. There are a few jammers, but from the photos, it looks like speedos are making a come back!!!

Just Google the phrase “2011 Men’s College Swimming” and take a look at all the eye candy!!! :P

I like the video and hope this is the beginning of a come back. The video featured teams from California, I still think speedos are more common there than elsewhere, perhaps.

More popular in Cal than Fla maybe. But I haven't been to a meet since FINA banned full body tech suits. I'm not a comp swimmer but it looks like these guys think speedos are better than jammers which are allowed. The comp jammers are are tight like compression shorts. And they can cost $200+. Crazy.

having been a comp swimmer when fina banned the full bodies, and been to swim meets after the ban, i can say for SURE speedos are the preferred racing suit by university males around New Brunswick Canada. still no news on if they are making a come back on the beaches around here... though one can only hope that with more people wearing them on pool deck, more people will feel comfortable wearing them on the beaches ^_^

For sure.

From what I can see on the web, water polo teams mostly wear speedos. and they aren't bashful about it either.

I see plenty of competitive swimmers in speedos here.

Well, I'd probly be less shy if I had your body....or what I imagine you to look like since I've never seen you. Akshully, I'm pretty comfortable in my speeds at the beach or a pool.
