How brief would you go?

At the beach where I do some ocean swimming, there's usually a great selection of guys in speedos. One in particular seems to be getting more adventurous every week. He used to wear boardies, then over the months started wearing longer square cuts, then shorter square cuts and now wears a very small, light blue 'budgy smuggler' suit.

It looks like he's really getting into the whole speedo thing which is great for everyone! I wonder how far he'll go. Maybe he discovered he's a bit of an exhibitionist? (Nice).

How far would you guys go in terms of skimpy/sexy speedos in public?

The Joe Snyders or speedo solars are about as far as I go at a beach or pool that isn't "clothing optional". Most have seen these pictures before, but here they are again. Of course I have nothing against wearing a regular speedo a little low.

I'd go pretty skimpy as long as there aren't a whole lot of minors around ... even N2N's with like 1/2" sides ...

I would only go as far as I have gone before now - aussiebum tuff-az or classics. I don't think I could wear less than that on a public beach.

Depends on the scenario

Ocean Beach
I've gone as far as a 1" rio but would go as far as a 1"or .5" thong (when I finally buy one)

Lake Beach
I'll stick to my 2" brief. Nice feel and not revealing enough to raise any real fuss.

Pools
I've gone as far as wearing a 2", but depending on how many minors there are, I might go rio one day. Florida pools I've noticed (back in 2000) have some sort of a speedo scene.

I've not wore a speedo at a waterpark yet.

I just wear fairly ordinary speedos. What are they? 3 or 4 inches? 5 inches at the hip?

I saw a guy in red aussiebums at pool and they suited him. I didn't notice they were skimpy or not. I just thought they were cool/nice colour.

I think the rule is no pubic hair. Anyone want someone to help check, I"m available. lmao

Duncandude - yeah i imagine that no pubic hair would be a fair "rule" for general pubic swimming ... but then again, I keep myself totally smooth, so um, er ... well you get the idea lol

Ah, Scotty my lad. I thought this might be the case ....

The pubic hair rule was actually invoked when speedos were first invented and a man wore them at Bondi - the courts ruled that speedos weren't indecent exposure/obscene since no pubic hair was showing. That must have been the 50s maybe?

Also, I think in old films, they didn't like male armpit hair showing? And then Clark Gable came along in a singlet.

This is a topic that has been of great interest to me lately.
I used to be strictly a square cut man. Nothing more, nothing less.
But lately... I've become a bit more daring. I recently went out and
purchased a HOM Dubai Micro (1 inch sides) and an Aussiebum Boosterjock
(as seen in avatar).
So far I've only warn the Boosterjock in public.
BUT I've been checking out the offerings on Muscleskins (http://www.muscleskins.com), and am
feeling even more daring...
Anyway here is a pic of the HOM. Taken with iPhone, so sorry about picture quality.

wow DustyG, those HOM swimwear does look pretty daring,

The speedos Solars are only 1" and I've worn them a few times - but the only difference is that they're higher cut so they sit on your ass better, compared to the aussiebums in which they have 1.5" sides but they certainly don't stretch up as much - I've worn my aussiebums boosterjock 1.5" portsea at the beach and it was so low that my pubic hair was showing. lol*

I've just ordered muscleskins and I'm waiting for them to pop by..

umm.. looking fwd to it.

I'm definitely going for the Rio AND the thong, probably both in classic.
Not sure bout colour though... either black, blue, or pink maybe

I ordered the colour of muscle skin in titanium and silver - pink might be just a bit too much for me to wear lol* the rest of the lighter colour will go transparents in water (as they're unlined) so I ruled them out - I got the 2" classic titanium full back for swimming in my local pool. Will def post photos of them online once I get them next week! (my friend coming from the US is bringing them, saving me lots in postage!)

Ordered my Muscleskins.
I got the 1" classic thong in black,
and the 3/4" classic capri in olive.
