U.S. Olympic Diving Trials on TV

Post by Thom » Sun Jun 13, 2021 5:25 pm

I caught part of the U.S. Olympic diving trials. Stunning to see amazingly fit, lean, defined guys in speedos on TV--Hi-def TV at that. I can remember when divers wore special, high waisted suits that didn't look very good. Now they wear briefs (and they are brief, a few with a butt seam) like competitive swimmers used to wear.

I'm watching the swimming trials at the moment, and they're all wearing jammers.

I saw it too! Loving that the suits they wear now all ride low on the hips. Some are briefer than others. One guy was wearing a small black suit made by Arena but I guess he didn't figure too much in the standings and they didn't show him much. First time though that I can recall seeing an American competitor wearing Arena.

Don't forget the water polo players, too! Thank god that those two sports keep speedos in the Olympics.

Yes true, always in speedos but don't think they have the bodies that divers do.

I tuned in late, and only saw that black Arena briefly. I think the butt-seam suits were made by Nike. Did Tom Daley in the U.K. set the pace for divers wearing small suits? For sure he's not bashful about it. You kind of wonder if the divers are over-training. I could see cupping marks from a Chinese system of healing, and one diver had his back taped. That aside, for speedo lovers, these Olympic diving trials were a sight to behold. Diving is one sport where you have to be totally comfortable with your body image.

Before there was Tom Daley, I remember seeing the Canadian diver Alexandre Despatie wearing some small suits - they looked like a size too small. He had quite the package.

I think the King of the Bulge in the diving world actually is François Imbeau-Dulac. There are one pic of him with a big erection under his red speedos while falling from the trampoline in a competition in 2019 and that pic was posted in his own Instagram profile. Although François has never talked openly about his sexuality, I found him on Grindr when he came to Lima in order to compete in the Pan-American Games. And due to his erection pic, I have a feeling that he would be a Speedo fetishist.

PS/off-topic: Is it certain that most of Canadian male divers are gay and/or francophone rather than straight and/or anglophone?
Speedos are the best swimwear around. Period.
