First Lap Swim in a Year

Post by 52dno98 » Wed Jun 02, 2021 12:54 pm

First lap swim (at my gym's outdoor pool) in about a year... and it showed. I'm really out of shape and close to 10 lbs./4.5 kg heavier because of the pandemic.

I wore my Arena Carbonics suit- a fun pattern without being too crazy... and JEEZ, was it good to be outside in a speedo again. I'd missed it for sure!

I hope to get back into swimming regularly and shed some of the extra weight... and get my speedo tan back.

Yes it's been a difficult year for those of us that love swimming. Don't worry, you will find that you soon get your strength and stamina back and your fitness and weight will improve again.

Lucky u. I have to wait for one month at least before they open outdoor swimming pools over here in France. One year and a half without a swim in my swim briefs, patience is more and more difficult to stand.

Congrats on getting back in your favorite suits! My state is supposed to fully open at he end of the month. I’m soooooo hoping my local pool will too. Since the pandemic I’ve done more out door swimming in the buff, so the speedo will feel pretty modest;-) but can’t wait to get back in the lap pool to lose the pandemic weight gains and hopefully get back to laps in the thong…

Cool Arena. I'm still waiting for a local outdoor county pool to open. It's a short drive away, but they chose to renovate it during COVID, and it's still not done. They usually open in April.
