Server Back Online

G'day guys,

Okie dokie guys, things are getting back online… finally.

Last Monday there was a fire at the datacenter where the servers are hosted that run this little speedo porn empire of mine (Little and Empire don’t quite fit) and it meant my sites went offline.

This is what my server admin Kip is paid all that money to keep track of and everything is/was backed up 100%.

These datacenters are HUGE and are big business and they really don’t go offline very often. If costs everyone a fortune when they do. When it went offline we didn’t expect it to take very long before it came back online. By Wednesday morning Kip and I decided that since the datacenter hadn’t come back online, we would move to the backup servers. This is 20 hours of work for Kip (on top of his usual schedule) and then rolling back to the original settings is about the same amount of work so it is a decision we don’t take lightly.

By Wednesday night the backups started to propagate through the web and things started coming back online.

I can report now that everything is back online. For some people your proxy/ISP won’t have updated but that shouldn’t take too long to flush through the web.

Thanks to everyone for your patience and your concern when we first went offline. It is nice to know that so many off you really missed my sites.

I had a camping trip planned for this weekend, but I have a lot of work to catch up on.

Lots of new movies will be popping up over the next few days so I hope you guys are ready.

Yeah PayPal screwed me over two weeks ago by closing my account. It was a little cheeky on my part but was running along nicely for 18 months or so. All current PayPal memberships are fine, just not accepting any new ones.

April has been a rather expensive month.
