Low Rise Speedo Question

Post by SpeedoQuest » Tue Sep 29, 2020 11:43 am

Hey guys. I have really enjoyed wearing low rise briefs this year and have purchased several Kiniki Swim Micro tan through suits, Arigreben as well as a few Desmiits. My question is around allowing a little pubic hair to show at the top of the suit or if that is completely inappropriate. I trim and shave a lot of my pubic hair but do leave enough where some does show when I wear the low rise suits. What are your thoughts?

I think it's probably a personal preference. For myself, I don't want any showing so I shave it all off.

Hello SpeedoQuest,

To be honest I wouldn’t see it as a problem. It’s only the same as a hairy ass in a thong (trying not to think about it). If that is what you like then go for it.

My thoughts are that snail trail is ok, but pubes over the top and spider legs are not cool. That’s an Australian perspective at least. To the public at the pool and beach, if people can see hair then they’ll look at that and think that speedo is way too small or you need to shave.

Agree with Sam - I remove the top 1/2 to 3/4" of pubic hair, except the transition to my snail trail, so snail trail OK - real pubes not, unless you're with "friends" and your suit is Really Low!

In March my pool closed for three months. I took that opportunity to, not grow a COVID beard, but my pubic hair back. When the pool reopened I trimmed up a little and headed to the pool. I wear a black Joe Snyder black bikini, but I also own a white one. Not sure I can or should wear the white one to the pool.

Do you wear those for a public rec swim or a lap swim? If so how do others respond? I normally wear a Gary Majdell Ultra Greek bikini normally and a Desmitt thong for the adult swims (both are lap swim times). A JS might be the next step for the my normally lap swims as I’m trying to gradually go to a smaller suit for the normal lap swim sessions.

Could you please post a few links to some of the suits you own? I’m looking to go a bit smaller than my Gary Majdell Ultra Greek but still have more than my Desmitt thong. As mentioned elsewhere I’m a lap swimmer and I’m slowly trying to go smaller so that people can see I’m a totally normal person and not trying to make a big statement. I just find smaller swimwear soooo much more comfortable.

I wear it to swim laps in a university pool. When I swim I’m around people in my are group (60 and above), or some times the team is swimming. Of course covid has changed that, no team yet. I swim around maybe 4 or five other people, many doing water aerobics. Now and then a student is swimming too. No one seems to care. The thing that worried me most was whether I could dive into the pool, I can. I’m more likely to lose my goggles then my suit. It’s also a full rear, thongs are a no no. Thanks for asking.

Thanks guys for the feedback. Based on some of the comments I did decide to trim a little more so that the pubic hair would not show.

Great minds think alike. I also took the opportunity to grow a Covid bush during lockdown  I actually enjoyed having a full bush and have kept it... I can’t wear my low rise speedos as a result as it really does look ridiculous. My normal speedos are fine though, and the water keeps everything under control too!

In answer to the original question about whether to trim more – I say, do whatever you feel comfortable with. Personally, I would trim a bit more so as to only have the usual trail to the bellybutton (I always forget if it’s called a snail trail or a treasure trail!) but you do what feels right for you.

Great report. Luckily my pubic hair is dark and my suits are dark, so so even if my suit is wet you can’t see my pubic hair cascading over the top. As a sidenote, singer songwriter Steve Grand is sewing swimwear during the covid crisis. I am toying with the idea of buying one of his bikinis, should he bring out a black one.

I don't think 'snail trail ' means what you guys think it means.

Hmmm, there seem to be different definitions, depending on whether you live in a Commonwealth Country or the U.S. Gets confusing on globalized sites like this one.
