Speedo Connections
How many of you have discovered that a friend, colleague, or family member that like wearing speedos? So far, I haven’t found that any of my friends or co-workers wear speedos. Oh wait, I just remembered that my ex co-workers boyfriend wore speedos. She mentioned it one day and I don’t remember if I followed up with a ‘I do too’ response. In any case, she definitely knew at some point because I invited them over to my pool and we both wore our speedos.
Just a straight guy that enjoys wearing speedos. Life is too short, enjoy wearing what you want.

Some friends in my social group wear them but not all. And oddly I have created a challenge patch that requires people to hike in Speedos and tutu to earn it.shadowmn wrote:How many of you have discovered that a friend, colleague, or family member that like wearing speedos? I do not have any friends or acquaintances who wear speedos that I know of. However many of my friends know I wear them. In fact I’ve only seen one other man wearing them anywhere I’ve been in many years.
Re: Speedo Connections
One of my friends had a group of guys who wore Speedos on day as a joke. They learned how much more conformable and convenient they are and it quickly transitioned from a joke to their normal swimwear.
Re: Speedo Connections
Years ago when I would go lap swimming most of the men wore Speedo’s. Then when jammers came out almost everybody went to jammers, swim teams included. That was at a large municipal pool where all the local high school teams practice and compete. Interestingly the last time I swam there which was a couple years ago they had put up signs in the gang shower saying no nudity and put divider curtains up all over the dressing area. Apparently someone is freaking out over male nudity.
I now swim at an athletic club who’s pool has a lot fewer lanes and there are a lot fewer people who lap swim there. It is there that I’ve only seen one other man ever in a speedo and he was lap swimming. I have never seen another man there in a speedo just just lounging around the pool. Lap swimmers either wear big boxer shorts or jammers.
I suppose this is because I live in a very conservative area where a man just taking off his shirt is likely considered immodest so wearing a speedo is almost scandalous.
Of course it’s normal for a man to be topless swimming, and wearing a speedo I am showing no more butt and thigh than the typical woman so I see no problem with it.
Re: Speedo Connections
If you’re going to wear a speedo in a place where they are not common you just have to except the fact that people are going to stare at you point at you, laugh at you and talk behind your back.
You just have to show your confidence and know that there are also a lot of people out there looking at you admiringly, wishing they could see more.

Great and keep it up! These stigmas are learned behavior. The more informed and relaxed we are wearing speedos for the benefits that they bring make them more acceptable to others. I was out in Las Vegas doing Physical Therapy at an aquatics center. Omg the amount of guys and gals wearing Speedo’s 70% briefs and 30% jammers for the guys, truly inspiration there. During my visit, over Easter there was Easter Egg hunt for deferent ages with there parents and saw some parents in speedo briefs. Off topic some here, but I have a speedo from my bad to an older 84 year old to try out. He worn it the next day when I came in to do some pool therapy. I said nice suit. He smiled and gave my a thumbs up!jace wrote:I've been told by many of my kids in swim class that seeing me in my speedo was the reason they stopped wearing jammers and went to swim briefs.
