Slated to swim in a parents relay at my daughters swim meet.

Post by electric2010 » Tue Jul 21, 2015 10:36 am

As a "post-swim meet" event, my daughter's team is having a parent relay. I'm excited & scared. I have never swam competitively, but hoping to have fun. Planning to only bring a jammer, so that I don't chicken out a wear dork shorts...

Wish me luck!

Good Luck! You will have a blast.
My favorite event every year is the High School Alumni Meet. The current swim teams take on the former swimmers, you know, the old has beens. Which can include the college kids home for Christmas. And the Masters. You might be surprised who wins the meet. Partially because the young ones don't think to keep track of points themselves, and we old people aren't real good with numbers any more.
My message to them is that they don't have to stop swimming. Ever. It is a sport for life and one that can keep them in good shape as long as they live.

It was absolutely so much fun, but it was over in the blink of an eye.

Unfortunately, they didn't time it or make note of places. They had mercy on us old folks, and let us do a 100 medley relay. I led off with back, and much to my surprise, I was not last! I believe our team may have been 4th or 5th in an 8 lane pool.

Probably the best part was that I got to wear a jammer in front of a lot of people I knew! Hope that I have a chance to do this again next year.

Good for you ... and better for you getting in the pool! A lot of parents would not even do it.
Check My Collection in Photos ... always adding new pictures! Fletch.
