World Cup of Speedos

Just a stupid little game to commemorate the 2014 World Cup soccer (Futbol! - Copa Mudial!) tournament going on now in Brasil !

Here's a chart with all the participating countries/teams. Pick which three of these countries you think are the best places to wear Speedos, based on whatever reasons you choose be it speedo-friendly culture, spectacular beaches, great looking people, awesome water based activities, nightlife, whatever! Rank them in order, or in no particular order, makes no difference. I'm guessing Brazil, Australia and most of the European nations will get a lot of votes, let's see which come out on top.

I'll start off with my votes:

1. Italy (based on all those YouTube videos, Italy looks like speedo heaven)
2. Greece (historic birthplace of breath hold diving, and they dive in speedos!)
3. Brazil (where the men are nearly naked and the women are even naked-er!)

So many others on that chart to choose, (how can I leave off Australia!), but those are my picks.

Dive Guy, dang good idea!

Follows are my votes:
1. Brazil - to hot to wear much of anything!
2. Greece - when I visited there, which was the time I realized the value of swimming in a speedo, I quickly became embarrassed by the huge waist band size of my American speedos, I had to shop for something smaller and bought my treasured 3-stripper. That is also when I encountered rude American tourist making snide comments about the local's swimwear, I became concerned about how other countries viewed us, and actually became that person American's make snide comments about.
3. Australia - Due to this forum, I want to visit there more then ever, and want to wear their native suit, the AussieBum, so they have to be in my top three.

1. Brazil- men are expected to dress sexy, there's a great beach culture and the water is warm.
2. Italy- again a country where young men are expected to take on a bit of eye candy role and speedo wearing is almost a rite of passage for teenagers and guys in there early twenties. Check out the "Hung like a Hoss" swim briefs that Italians refer to as "Bags of balls"!
3. France. At public beaches and pools it's the law, don'tyaknow!

Okay, picks go as follows

1. Australia - Because most of my favourite brands come from there.
2. Switzerland - Why? Because red speedos with the white cross on the butt, or better on the crotch, are so hot.
3. Japan - Once again, we see so many hot bodies come from there.

Runner up, Mexico because of one of my close friends. He's pretty hot and I've been nudging him to try a speedo XD.

im with diveguy, however, i have to say that i think australia is sadly going down the american route, and speedos arent seen as "normal swimwear", in my experience it has pretty much been mostly boardies, ranging from the "extra long almost pants" version, to the just above the knee version....speedos are only "normal" in the pool for training.... :(

i dont know about what other ppl have experience tho tbh.

James, sad news if overall true, but thanks for weighing in as a native. I wonder though, are speedos still dominant in the lifeguard ranks? I look at all the pics on www.surfbriefs.tumblr.com and my impression is that most of them are taken in Australia.

day to day / weekend to weekend lifeguards are mostly 90% all in boardies (all the younger guys are, ive only seen maybe 1 or 2 guys in speedos, the rest in boardies, tho there are a few more older guys in speedos still.)
they have surf lifesaving competitions / iron man competitions in which all the guys are in speedos, but once again, this is seen as normal, cos its a competition, rather than regular day to day activity.
