Miami

I'm back from my business trip to Miami and am currently enjoying a foot of snow :)

I didn't have a whole lot of time to spend on the beach, but I did get out there a little. Was it worth it?

Absolutely.

The first morning I peaked out over my balcony and looked toward the beach, there was a couple walking and the man was in a speedo. He was middle-aged and a little heavy, but he and his wife were just out for a stroll!

After breakfast I decided to scope out the reality of the situation (previously I had donned my new 1.5" black AB's under my shorts just in case). Upon walking onto the beach I saw a few more briefs, and sunga style trunks. The Sunga style seemed to be pretty prominent, but I saw all walks, young and old, large and thin in speedos and various other trunks. Of course the board shorts were prominent. However, never in my walk did anyone ever look twice at someone else in a speedo. They probably figured they were European.

As I walked back I decided to find a spot to myself - but not alone - and stripped off my shorts - and sun-bathed in my briefs. I heard nothing but the wind off the ocean and the waves lapping the beach. I even went for a quick dip. It was AWESOME!!!

So, for anyone who may not be sure, I'm here to tell you that Miami Beach rocks for speedo bathing. I saw them on the beach, at the hotel pool, which was very family friendly, and even a few kids in the lobby. No one ever batted an eye. Also, the further south I walked, the more speedos I noticed.

I did also noticed that it was common for the speedo and trunk bathers to have a pair of shorts. I noticed most guys would find a spot and strip to their bathing suit underneath, then put them back on when they decided to head out.

It was incredibly liberating to just hang out and not be judged, or even worry about it.

If you're looking for a place in the US, or have the inclination to vacation this year, Miami makes a great spot.

4/5!

The last chance I had to hit the beach I opted for my 1" Nike's. Didn't bring my iPod, so I took the pic when I got back.

Glad you had a good time in Miami. When I think of Miami Beach in the winter the first thing that comes to mind is miles of retired Jews from the northeast there for the winter. My Grandmother went every year from Thanksgiving to Passover.
