G'day Guys,

Welcome to the Speedo Forum.

If you are a guest, you can only see a small portion of the forum. Members like posting their speedo selfies so I don't like that to be 100% public. However, joining is free.

If you are a new member, you need to email me your username so I can manually activate your account. This is a pain (for you and me) but it is the only way I've been able to keep the spam bots from ruining the forum. My email address is: DaveEvans@SpeedoFetish.com

This forum is free and I don't allow any advertising (except my own sites), if you would like to donate please click the link above, all donations go towards the hosting and maintenance of the forum for everyone to enjoy.

Why I was an "inncative member"

Post by speedoboi » Sat Dec 15, 2012 6:42 pm

I know this is a bit off topic, but I was one the members whose account was deactivated. I know no explanation is mandatory, bnut I still felt it would be a goode idea. Around the month of May of 2012, my father suffered a massive stroke (we were told he would either be dead or in a vegatative state), despite showing only signs of the flu, no stroke symnptoms whatsoever. I had to change to a flexible job which unfortunately doesn't pay as much as my previous one. For nearly 6 weeks my dad was hospitalized. I'm an only child and we have no family here in Canada. Honestly, the only thing on my mind was, "am I going to lose my father? what will happen to my mom and I if he dies or becomes a vegetable? My parents don't know about me being a member of this forum. On top of that, I was raised a christian and I would be severely chastised if this was discovered. On top of that, 2 days after my dad was discharged and sent to a recovery-rehab facility, I ended up leaving my place of worship in an ambulance and spending 4 hours in the emergency room. Why? The so-called christians whom my family and I associated with offered no support. Instead, they tried to cause trouble for us and even insulted my parents and I.

I actually would sign up just to see what was happening on this site, but I had no energy, I was emotionally drained. From the end of May until now, I probabaly sent only 3 e-mails. I know I posted nothing, but I was till checking out this forum. To make things worse, I no longer had time to exercise. Personally, I look awful physically in my opinion. I'm afraid to wear a speedo because of the ridicule. I saw an acquaintance of mine who loves to give me sensual-erotic massages and he said I looked fine, but I feel so insecure now. And now my liver has been adversely affceted due to stress and other factors so my stomach swells up in a major way. I have days when literally nothing fits me.

Let's becareful on the conclusions we reach.

So sorry you've gone through such tough times! Things will look up soon, I'm sure. :)

On roughly the same note, I was deactivated as a member - it really pissed me off. Just because I hadn't be on in a month - really, Dave??

I too was surprised to see that I was deactivated, and I didn't think I was all that inactive.

I tried to login one day, and discovered my account did not exist. All kinds of horrible thoughts crossed my mind, was my story too offensive, silly, boring, irrelevant; did I post something inane, or did I commit some kind of board-etiquette blunder?

Even if I don't post everyday, I visit almost daily. Usually, by the time I read a thread, the discussion/comments seem to have said everything, so if I have nothing further to add, I don't post anything.

I think everyone finds their own niche on these boards, you might be into some aspects, but not so much into others. Maybe some members really do lose interest, never come back again, and are truly inactive, but infrequent appearance of posts doesn't always mean this.

So, it was a little annoying and upsetting to have been deactivated, but then Dave's gotta do what he's gotta do to keep the site going in the most efficient and time-saving way. After all, it is a free site, and we have to recognize Dave is doing it as a labour of love (of Speedos ;) !).

I was deactivated as well. I was able to sign back up with the same name, but lost contacts and friends, messages and previous posts.

Glad to be back and thankful for the board.

Happy Holidays a bit early!

I originally joined this forum in May 2012 and for some strange reason, my membership got deactivated as well but I just re-joined yesterday.

Now I'm glad that I'm back again:)

Guys,

The scrubbing of 'inactive' accounts was the only way I could remove the 1,000's of spam accounts. It was nothing personal and I understand that 'real' accounts were caught in the purge.

I wrote in detail, on this forum and my blog why it happened.

The alternatives were:

1. I just let the forum fill with spam (like 95% of posts would be spam)
2. Shut it down.

I think purging the account was the best option because I love this little community. Rejoining is easy, although I get emails daily from people who don't read the topic "Check this before you register".

And now the forum is running great, no spam and a good bunch of guys contributing.

Enjoy the forum guys.
