Hey,

I lived there when I was a kid in the late 80s early 90s. It is very speedo friendly, among the white Afrikaners, I would say about 90% are in speedos. The blacks (sorry but it is still a very segregated society) do wear speedos but not as much and the younger ones around my age don't at all.

hope that helps

Hi wiscoboy.

I have lived in South Africa practically my entire life. Probably a bit late for your info... sorry...only just saw ur post...

South Africa is generally a very accepting place. The facts are that speedos are mostly acceptable within the gay community. If you're going to the beach and want to wear speedos, your best bet is Cape Town. Clifton 3rd is known as the "gay beach" and is very speedo friendly. Many beautiful speedo-clad men can be spotted there. The other alternative is Sandy Bay, a nudist beach also in Cape Town, but this beach is much less frequented, and can be a complete leg down in terms of eye-candy...

I hope this helps - and my advise is not too late...

Ben
