Living in the delightful San Francisco Bay Area where I have a miniscule view of the Bay, mostly the west end of the San Mateo Bridge.
I can't afford any more view than that.
My very first stretch nylon brief came from Sears when I was in jr. high. Been a Speedoâ„¢ fan since the days when they were called tank trunks, made in Australia, distributed in the USA by White Stag, and sold in plain white boxes. The text on the box said the suits were sized at full stretch for a proper fit. Bought my first pair of real Speedos as a college freshman. It was a size 34 100% nylon tricot in yucky empire green. That was the only color in my size. The sides were probably about 6".
Lots of us then-young studs had to wear a jock with em. Everybody wore speedos either pointed down or to the side, unless they sported a "stinger" package. The first upward pointee I saw somewhat later caused me a near-fatal shock.
Friends and I went thru the metamorphis from nylon to lycra and I became an instant convert. Still had a few nylon after that but favored lycra.
Since then I've worn numerous brands and have had many favorites. I really prefer prints rather than solids but finding them is impossible. Anyone remember trunks made by Head in late 70s-early 80s? How about the Turbo and Arena brands about 1980 (don't confuse them with those sold under the same names today). All those were fantastic.
Always enjoy talking about Speedos and all the other brands which get called Speedos. (I think you can reach me by PM.)
