Hello from New Mexico
You might not think that a landlocked desert state would be much of a place to swim. But in the case of New Mexico, you just might be wrong. I am a strong swimmer and prefer swimming in inland lakes with lots of room, lots of sun and lots of freedom. And New Mexico has some pretty good ones. My favorite is Lea Lake at Bottomless Lakes State Park near Roswell. Sometime I'll post a pic. But like nearly everywhere in the US, Speedos are rarely seen here, though I wear speedo style suits exclusively since I cannot stand the useless drag - not to mention the sloppy, floppy look and feel of "dork shorts". I have very rarely had a disparaging remark made about my swim attire that I have heard and NEVER had such a remark made to my face. I also really couldn't care less of what "everyone else" thinks anyway. Well, more later as time permits, but for now: "Hello Mates!"

Hello!
I'm guessing that's a Speedo Aquablade brief you have on. Looks great!
I own a sapphire pair myself and love how it feels in the pool.
I usually find myself alone in wearing a speedo/brief at the pool here in NC too, sigh. Would never swim in anything but briefs/jammers.
Glad to have you here!

Welcome, and three cheers to you for your "don't care what anyone else thinks" attitude regarding your choice in swimwear! If all the speedo lovers put that into practice, there would be a hell of a lot more speedos seen on the beach and at the pools than are seen currently. BTW, I totally agree with your reasons for preferring speedos over dork shorts, and you are in very understanding company here on the blog! Speedos are the greatest men's swimsuits ever!nmspeedoboi wrote: I wear speedo style suits exclusively since I cannot stand the useless drag - not to mention the sloppy, floppy look and feel of "dork shorts". Re: Hello from New Mexico
Not really sure exactly what “model” of Speedo I am wearing here. I believe I got it at a store called “Swim-N-Things” (on Evans Avenue of all things) in Denver when I lived in Colorado. It is really a great store – handles LOTS of brief style swim suits from Speedo, Arena, Nike, TYR and others. They also have great accessories like premium Speedo and TYR goggles and “pool fins” – both of which I use. Of course these days you can also get premium accessories as well as real swim wear from internet sources such as Swimoutlet.com and numerous others. (“Real swimwear” is, of course, limited to brief, or speedo style suits in my opinion.) I also have the same suit in black, maroon, and dark green. Being somewhat of a “speedo whore”, I have a rather complete collection of AussieBum nylon suits as well as TYR and Nike suits in nylon and polyester. Nylon and polyester are my favorites.

Would be great to have a store like that nearby. I've been looking at a few suits on sale at Big5 that I can't get cuz there's no store in town and they can't take online orders. Boo!
Again, it's good to have someone who takes swimwear seriously aboard!

Welcome from a proud to be known as a speedo wearer in the upper State's, and another land-locked lake swimmer who appreciates swimming in clear, non-salty water....just a great clean feeling.nmspeedoboi wrote:I also have the same suit in black, maroon, and dark green. Sounds as our humble little group is in for a lengthy viewing of your extensive collection of proper swimwear....after all, we love our self-proclaimed "speedo whore's"; and me being a self-proclaimed speedo aficionado, I look forward to reviewing the collection of others, while being worn of course, and I've never been disappointed by this crowd!
Let's keep it brief.
