Re: Rock out with your bits out at Mardi Gras
Thanks for that Budgy. I marched in the parade 4 years ago - an awesome experience in a 60s costume. I would love to march again wearing only speedos ... one day.

Sunset speedos
I like the Australian brand 'Budgy Smuggler' which has a range of fun styles. Also, if you're a regular swimmer like me, they are well-made and a comfortable fit. They also have a photo competition for unusual shots of them being worn. I was on a coastal road trip recently and I climbed up to the su...

Re: Speedo Beaches Australia
A major motivation for me moving to Oz 4 years ago was to wear speedos where no one cares and lots of other guys do too. You can't keep me away from pools and sometimes beaches these days.
Have a great trip down under dacondor, where you can wear speedos every day!

Lifeguards should wear just speedos
Just something I've often hoped for but have not seen at the pools I use. Lots of speedos in the water but not among the staff, although sometimes a lifeguard strips off the shorts and polo shirt to do laps - nice! To be fair these ones are in a park and drinking beer but I felt an illustration was ...

Trying on swimwear in shops
IMG_1600 rs.JPG So there I was in the Team8 shop in Sydney, adding to my ever growing collection of speedos. I was pleased I was allowed to try on properly (without putting on over underwear). Unusually I was feeling brave so after trying on a smaller size I called to the cute shop assistant and as...

Welcome. I love the Aussie love of speedos. Even guys who don't wear them have a positive attitude or don't care about guys who do it seems.

Thanks SpeedoShark and budgy.
Budgy - with a name like that you had to respond! I know you're an AB man but have you ever tried the smuggler brand yourself?

Buzzing bee
The Australian 'Budgy Smuggler' range has many designs. They seem to market mostly at straight men having the courage to wear skimpy swimwear. Maybe others will know more about this... Anyhow, I couldn't resist these very striking 'Beez knees' ones. I really like the feel of them - they seem well ma...

Thanks budgy. That feeling of the sun on your back and no one else around certainly has a thrill. I will repeat the experience sometime or find another speedo walker.

Coastal walk in speedos
It was the last sunny and warm day of autumn, around 28 degrees, so I took myself off for the day to do a long solo bush walk over a few hours and several kilometres. I was on the coast and going through a deserted national park. Seeing that I was completely alone, I took off my shorts and singlet a...

Re: Did you swim today?
To answer your earlier question Nate, I don't stop after each 50. I usually stop only once after 26/28 but sometimes do the whole 40 without stopping. the first 12 are usually breaststroke, then it's freestyle. I'm too old (nearly 49) to push for speed, although I can accelerate for 50-100 reasonabl...

Re: Did you swim today?
Very impressive. I thought I was doing well at 2000 metres (40 X 50 metres) 3 times a week. All that turning in a 25 metre pool for you! I really enjoy the 50 metre ones out here. I should improve my technique but I just do it for the love of the water and speedos plus all round fitness. Keep up the...
